PPL was founded to work with individuals, communities and organisations throughout the UK to improve health, wellbeing and economic success.
To achieve this, we apply world-class consulting techniques and practice, and invest in developing new ways of addressing the opportunities and challenges facing our society. Whilst we are not in this for awards, we are very proud that our work in partnership with our clients and other sector partners has been recognised, including as winners of the:
HSJ Awards System leadership initiative of the year 2019
As part of the Hampshire System Integrator project, we worked in partnership with NEL, OptiMedis-Cobic, Imperial College Health Partners and Social Finance to transform approaches to proactive and preventive care locally, and to create a roadmap for population health management nationally. The project drew directly on lessons from Gesundes Kinzigtal in Germany, one of the world’s most established, documented and effective integrated care systems. Working with GPs, acute and community providers in Fareham & Gosport, the team used local data to provide insights into current practice and priorities for improvement; engaged patients in pinpointing what was important to them; and supported GPs and commissioners to roll out best practice - in parallel, developing a “system integrator” handbook to support future population health initiatives and improvements.

The award recognised the success of our work with the West London Alliance to transform the experience and outcomes of people being discharged from hospital, working with 8 clinical commissioning groups, 8 local authorities, 10 acute trusts and dozens of other local groups.

PPL worked with colleagues at Nesta, the Innovation Unit and six localities across the country to support the development of new approaches to the management of long-term physical and health conditions, built around bringing together individuals and professionals to “co-produce” better health and care services and outcomes.
