PPL shortlisted for two Management Consultancies Association (MCA) Awards

Leading independent consultancy PPL has been shortlisted in two categories in the Management Consultancies Association (MCA) Awards.

Over the last seven years PPL has worked to transform the outcomes that public services deliver. The team’s contribution to new thinking about how to deliver positive impact at scale and pace and their work on practical projects to make whole-system integrated care a reality has now been recognised by the MCA Awards panellists, who have shortlisted PPL in The Best Use of Thought Leadership category.

A key example of PPL’s ground-breaking work is the Embedding Partnership programme which has been shortlisted in the Innovation category of the awards. Working closely with the Strategy and Transformation team, PPL is helping to embed co-production across the collaboration of eight Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) in North West London. Recognising the need to do things differently to successfully deliver integrated care and improve outcomes for patients, PPL was asked to lead the long-term programme of work which brings service users and carers together in equal partnership with professionals. A tried and tested model that can be shared with other areas, the project has shifted focus from the supply side of health and care provision to the demand side. It has mobilised ordinary people to be part of the project team so they are a key part of the solution to challenges faced. The project has resulted in new jointly designed, innovative care models and represents a step-change in the way professionals and lay-partners work together.

PPL’s co-founders Simon Morioka and Claire Kennedy are delighted to have been shortlisted for this year’s MCA Awards having previously scooped the prize for Innovation Project of the Year in 2013: “We believe that joining up services and support around individuals, carers and communities will deliver better outcomes. Working in partnership with our clients, we deliver radical change, transform services and make a real difference”.

“We are extremely proud to have been shortlisted again for the MCA Awards, and pleased to be given the opportunity to celebrate innovation and improvements in the sector in which we work.”

The MCA Awards have been running for 18 years, and are the benchmark for quality within the consulting industry. The winners will be decided by an independent panel of experts and will be announced on Thursday 23 April at the awards evening.
