Anahita joined PPL as an Analyst after completing a Master’s Degree in International Development and Humanitarian Emergencies at LSE, where she developed her research skills and expanded her academic knowledge base of social development challenges. She specialized in policy development and system-wide changemaking, as well as design, implementation, and evaluation of sexual and reproductive health programmes.
Prior to joining PPL, Anahita worked with several local and global NGOs in areas including peacebuilding and mediation, child poverty, refugee rehabilitation, and women’s empowerment. Having taken on a variety of roles within these organisations, she brings experience in qualitative and quantitative research, interview research, monitoring and evaluation, and communications and engagement. During her internship at The Childhood Trust, Anahita undertook a progress evaluation of The Big Dinner campaign – a matched fundraising campaign which supports local charities in London working to address child food poverty.
Alongside her professional activities, Anahita volunteers her time and skills as a freelance pen and ink artist to develop and manage fundraising projects for the charity Give Opportunity Global. Last year, she raised nearly £2,000 to help provide medical and food supplies to orphan children and single mothers in Uganda during the Covid-19 pandemic.
In addition to her Master’s Degree, Anahita holds a BSc in International Relations from LSE.
