Dr Charlotte Holroyd

Senior Consultant

Charlotte joined PPL as a Senior Consultant after working as an NHS doctor for six years in hospitals across London and Surrey.

Prior to joining PPL, she worked as a trainee anaesthetist in a district general hospital providing anaesthesia to patients undergoing surgery as well as providing clinical care to patients on the intensive care and maternity units. In her earlier clinical training, she worked in several different medical and surgical specialties and also worked as a clinical teaching fellow delivering clinical training to medical students and clinical colleagues.

Charlotte led several quality improvement projects and clinical audits within the NHS to improve patient care, a number of which have been presented nationally or regionally. As a foundation doctor, she was awarded an NHS Foundation Award for Quality Improvement.

Since joining PPL, Charlotte has used her clinical insight to support projects being delivered within the NHS. She is leading the Clinical Leadership workstream and liaising with senior clinical stakeholders on the LITA (London’s Improvement and Transformation Architecture) programme which is bringing together organisations delivering regional transformation in healthcare across the capital. Charlotte has also been involved in process-mapping work at Moorfields Eye Hospital and has drawn on her anaesthetic experience to co-design new and innovative patient pathways for surgery with frontline clinicians.

Charlotte holds an MBChB in Medicine and Surgery and a BSc in Physiological Science from the University of Bristol. She achieved a merit in her Postgraduate Certificate in Healthcare and Biomedical Education from St. George’s University of London and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
