Dr Laura Porro
Laura is senior consultant with a background in PhD-level analysis and research, grounded in rigorous methodologies and best practice. She has direct experience in organisational development and workforce planning in the NHS, as well as having consulted on major change and system transformation including with Health Education England.
Her work has spanned health commissioning and provision with projects that have been recognised nationally and internationally including by the Institute for Continuous Improvement in Public Services and Patient Experience Network National Awards.
For the West London Alliance, she assisted the implementation of an integrated hospital discharge programme, which included the development of new policies and the training of over one hundred professionals across 8 health and care systems.
For West London Clinical Commissioning Group, Laura facilitated a series of PDSA cycles, with staff from a range of professional and organisational backgrounds. She also designed and led large scale engagement.
Laura has developed business cases for various health economies, facilitating the engagement of key stakeholder groups throughout the process. Most recently, Laura led a partnership team in the redesign and co-creation of patient pathways for a major specialist hospital trust. The team drew on best practice and trust data to help people think creatively about what future care should look like.
Prior to joining PPL, Laura worked as a researcher undertaking quantitative and qualitative analysis using demographic and workforce data and working with a wide range of stakeholders and service users to gather their perspectives on projects and services, their effectiveness and outcomes. Between 2013 and 2015 she worked in the NHS completing the Graduate Management Trainee scheme and progressing from HR advisor, supporting employee relations, and OD lead, implementing coaching interventions, to L&D business partner at South London and Maudsley Mental Health Foundation Trust.
Laura holds a PhD in Philosophy from the University of St Andrews and a PgDip in Human Resources Management from Leeds Beckett University. She is a PRINCE2 certified project manager and an Associate Member of the CIPD.
