Jose Acuyo Cespedes
Jose is a senior consultant who joined PPL in 2017. Since then, Jose has worked on multiple health and local government projects combining analytical, project management and stakeholder engagement skills to produce insight, guide decision-making, and support improved local outcomes.
Most recently, Jose has been supporting a local authority through their budget-setting process working with council directorates to capture financial and non-financial impacts and to support initiatives to improve population health across local communities.
Other examples of Jose’s work include evaluation of NHS England’s elective care transformation programme, leading the analytics for independent evaluations of integrated care services, and project managing the mobilisation of new community-based care.
Jose has also been involved in developing the evidence-base for new models of primary care and broader system change, having been published in the BJGP for his systematic review on pharmacist integration into general practice, and having presented at 2019’s Public Health England conference to explain the benefits of logic modelling as an evaluation methodology.
Prior to joining PPL, Jose had a clinical pharmacy role in both hospital and community settings with exposure to multi-disciplinary teams within primary, secondary and tertiary care. Jose holds an MPharm from the University of Nottingham. He subsequently completed his Masters in Public Health at Imperial College London focussing on advanced statistical analysis, epidemiology, health systems development and financing, and e-health.
