Rusne joined PPL as an Analyst after completing a Master’s Degree in Eating Disorders & Clinical Nutrition at UCL, where she focused her systematic review on pharmacological weight management, mental health and eating disorder psychopathology. Outside academia, Rusne has experience in Consumer Goods, Financial Services and Healthcare, and brings a breadth of skills to the team.
Applying her background in nutrition and mental health, Rusne has worked in several preventative healthcare and health-tech start-ups; During the COVID-19 pandemic, she helped pilot a pre-seed MVP digital-only platform, partnering with businesses such as True Search, Flywire and Deutsche Bank. She provided nutritional expertise to develop marketing materials for the launch of an integrated medicine centre applied for human longevity and performance medicine in London.
As a student, Rusne interned in a FTSE 100 company with a portfolio of over £100bn under management. There she developed a data visualisation tool to help optimise the performance of over 200 wealth management businesses through data-driven non-prescriptive consulting. She also has industrial experience in analytics, microbiology and new product development in one of the UK’s largest soft drinks manufacturers where she worked on over 50 stability studies to predict shelf-life of products for European and African markets, further developing skills in quantitative and qualitative analysis.
Rusne is an avid writer and scientific communicator, with articles published in the UK, US and Hong Kong. Her public health awareness video project won the Science Communication Prize 2021 as voted by the academics within UCL’s Division of Medicine.
Rusne holds a First-Class Honours Degree in Food Science & Nutrition from Leeds University.
