Nicola joined PPL as our Finance and Business Development Manager, bringing over two decades of experience in financial management across various sectors. Throughout her career, Nicola has demonstrated expertise in financial control, process improvements, and team leadership.
Prior to joining PPL, Nicola worked for the International Coffee Organization, an intergovernmental organisation operating under the auspices of the United Nations. In her role at the ICO she oversaw financial operations, including procurement, budgeting, cashflow management, and contributed to international project funding. Nicola collaborated extensively with member governments and large-scale partners, including UN organisations and agencies such as the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO). She also managed the financial operations for long-term development projects, including the finance and accounting of the HCP-CEP project, which was created to inform medical and healthcare professionals about current scientific findings on the health effects of coffee consumption.
Nicola also gained experience in a senior finance role at a UK-based SME, where she contributed to operational efficiency and financial transparency through process improvements.
At PPL, Nicola is responsible for overseeing financial reporting and supporting business development efforts. She also focuses on optimising operational processes to enhance efficiency and performance. Her dedication to continuous improvement ensures that PPL maintains robust financial controls while fostering growth. Nicola is passionate about leveraging technology to streamline processes and enhance operational transparency.
Nicola holds an MBA with distinction and a BA (Hons) in Business Management with Law from London South Bank University (LSBU), a postgraduate certificate in accounting, and is a part-qualified ACCA member through BPP.
