PPL grows Senior Advisor team with three new appointments
Social enterprise management consultancy, PPL, has appointed Martin Machray, Penny de Valk and Priya Kumar to its Senior Advisory Group.
The three new Senior Advisors bolster PPL’s commitment to working in partnership to deliver meaningful, innovative and sustainable change.
“Martin Machray, Penny de Valk and Priya Kumar’s appointments represent a significant moment for us as an organisation.” Explained Claire Kennedy, PPL’s Joint Chief Executive.
“It’s our mission at PPL to drive positive, lasting change with our clients and partners, and our three new Senior Advisors bring with them a vast amount of expertise and hands-on experience to enable us to do that effectively.”
Martin Machray joins PPL from a lifelong career in the NHS, first as a nurse, then in a variety of operational and clinical roles, including as Director of Nursing for large district general hospital in the West Midlands. He has also held senior positions in a range of organisations, including strategic commissioning, the Department of Health and in the London Regional Office of the NHS.
“I am delighted to be joining the team at PPL and to have the opportunity to share my nearly four decades of experience.” Said Machray.

Penny de Valk joins PPL with over 20 years international experience as a CEO of high growth services businesses. Her last three roles before becoming independent were Managing Director of The Penna plc Talent Practice, CEO of Savile Group and CEO of the Institute of Leadership and Management. Penny is a qualified coach and an expert commentator featured regularly in the likes of The Times and the Huffington Post.

Dr. Priya Kumar joins PPL as a distinguished General Practitioner and GP Partner at Kumar Medical Centre. She is renowned for her leadership in population health management, digital health innovation and addressing health disparities and has held several influential roles in Slough and Frimley ICB. She is dedicated to integrating health and social care sectors and collaborates closely with public health and voluntary sector partners to develop innovative pathways that improve population health outcomes.

Martin Machray, Penny de Valk and Priya Kumar join PPL’s Senior Advisory Group of Helen Buckingham, Edel Harris OBE, Sean Harriss, Ren Kapur MBE and Gregor McHardy. The Group is chaired by Nigel Edwards.
