PPL donates from its Social Impact Fund to support Tate’s ‘Gathering Ground’ exhibition programme and Community Gatherings initiative.
The UK’s leading social enterprise management consultancy, PPL, announced its support of Tate Modern’s Community Gatherings initiative and Gathering Ground exhibition programme, which highlights the connection between environmental and social justice.
Tate’s Community Gatherings allow local people who might be struggling with social isolation, mental health or food poverty to socialise, connect and access the exhibitions, workshops, and film screenings Tate offers, followed by a meal.
Gathering Ground is an art exhibition that aims to explore the power of art to inspire change in today’s ecological crisis and reflects on people’s role in creating a more equal world.
Claire Kennedy, Joint Chief Executive at PPL, said:
“We are delighted to support these inspiring projects at Tate Modern with a philanthropic donation from our Social Impact Fund. People are at the centre of what we do at PPL, and we are proud to contribute to projects which empower change in such meaningful ways.”
PPL works with clients, partners and communities to have a positive impact on the world around them. A minimum of 50% of PPL’s profits each year goes to support charities and community groups through its Social Impact Fund.
Gathering Ground, which opens its doors on 29th January, is part of the special programme for Tate Modern’s 25th anniversary. It highlights the connection between environmental and social justice, by honouring indigenous culture and reflecting on people’s role in creating a more equal world.
