The challenge

inPLACE in a tool co-developed by the London Health and Care Partnership and PPL, to help with the integration of care in partnerships across London. inPLACE supports partnerships to move from “Why can’t we?” to “How will we?”.

To help ensure that London’s Integrated Care Systems and places within them are self-sufficient in using inPLACE, the London Health and Care Partnership looked for a partner to design a train-the-trainer course to enable those trained to pass on resulting skills and knowledge.

Our approach
  • Developing a Train the Trainer course: Agreed structure and contents for the inPLACE Train the Trainer course to develop delivery and testing plan.
  • Development of training materials: Developed full suite of training materials using learning from inPLACE pilots, testing the materials for online as well as in person delivery.
  • Delivery of Train the Trainer courses: Delivery of three Train the Trainer sessions to enable participants to become confident in supporting places and systems to harness inPLACE. This involved evaluation and refinement of training design based on participant feedback.
  • Support and handover:  Support to initial cohort working with nominated place-based partnerships and wider stakeholders, handing over a comprehensive training pack including suggested communications and guides for facilitators and trainees.
Our impact

Initial cohort trained to train others in using inPLACE, with representation across London, to ensure systems and places are self-sufficient in using the framework.

Further training on inPLACE can be conducted through the development of a tried and tested Train the Trainer programme, incorporating feedback from participants and accompanied by a full suite of materials

This will support accelerate integration across London, providing systems and places with tools to enable them to have open and honest conversations about where they are now, where they want to be and most importantly, how they are going to get there.
